Author Submission System Allows for Superior Document Indexing
Data Harmony®'s Author Submission System provides authors with the tools to submit work for publication with all required metadata and in XML format.
The Author Submission System interfaces with Data Harmony's metadata management software tools to suggest subject terms from your organization's thesaurus for document indexing. Authors select the most appropriate terms for indexing of their documents and the Author Submission System will then make suggestions for other indexing terms. Once selected and finalized, these terms are then saved with the submission and stored. The suggestions are stored in a separate field with the option of being included when published. These suggestions can be valuable for the taxonomy manager in keeping the taxonomy up to date with descriptive terms.
The standard fields include author affiliation, author contact information, abstract, references, and footnotes. There are separate fields for the body content support image and equation insertion, HTML formatting, and Unicode character encoding. Any field can be set to require an entry and fields can be validated for the data type expected, such as a date or a number.
The entire submission is displayed for the author as an HTML page. When the author is finished adding or editing data, the submission is stored in XML format using tags that allow easy integration into the organization's publishing workflow.
