Marjorie M.K. Hlava, Founder/President and Leland Yates, Director of Enterprise Business Development of Access Innovations, Inc., talk about a client case study requiring customized application of the Data Harmony taxonomy software at the 2014 Data Harmony User Group meeting (DHUG). This case study outlines the workflow and emphasizes the system’s versatility.
A current Data Harmony client needed to build a semantic enrichment engine for the capture of documents as they are uploaded to the Documentum system. Using a combination of Data Harmony software and extensions (Author Submit – now called Smart Submit – and MAIstro) with the client’s thesaurus, the tech team at Access Innovations implemented a semantically rich environment for the authors to deposit and index their documents during the deposit stream to the Documentum software. They also implemented the search end of the system, so that the documents are much more findable.
Following the lead of the Documentum installation for another Access Innovations client, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the documents are indexed by their authors at the time of upload, so that time is saved and authors’ expertise is captured.
