MAIstro™
MAIstro uniquely combines the functionality of Data Harmony's existing M.A.I. (Machine Aided Indexer) and Thesaurus Master to simplify the creation and management of controlled vocabularies and their use for categorization.
M.A.I. is a natural language processing tool that uses a rule-based system for interactive assignment of indexing terms to individual documents. For indexing that must be 100% accurate, M.A.I assists editors in the selection of indexing terms but the editor retains control of the final selections. For large volumes of data, M.A.I. can also be used to auto-categorize with up to 92% accuracy.
The Thesaurus Master module of MAIstro is used for the creation and maintenance of a taxonomy or the development of a full standards-compliant thesaurus. (See our blog entry Why Use a Taxonomy Management Tool?)
Since the two modules are integrated, a rule is created automatically when a thesaurus term is added, and changes to terms in the thesaurus are immediately reflected in associated M.A.I. rules. Additionally, term and rule changes are reflected in the application of M.A.I. in the TestMAI feature so the editor can see immediately that changes have accomplished their purpose.
A complementary administrative module allows customization of MAIstro's two main components, Thesaurus Master and M.A.I.
